Host Jason Griffey will be joined by three leading librarians who will bring a variety of experience and expertise to what is going to be a lively discussion about how libraries will transform in the next few years.
Marshall Breeding is an independent consultant, speaker, and author. He is the creator and editor of Library Technology Guides and the lib-web-cats online directory of libraries on the Web. His monthly column Systems Librarian appears in Computers in Libraries; he is the Editor for Smart Libraries Newsletter published by the American Library Association, and has authored the annual Automation Marketplace feature published by Library Journal since 2002. He held a variety of positions for the Vanderbilt University Libraries in Nashville, TN from 1985 through May 2012, including as Director for Innovative Technologies and Research as the Executive Director the Vanderbilt Television News Archive.
Nina McHale is Web Developer at the Arapahoe Library District, Englewood, CO. She has worked previously in academic libraries, most recently at the University of Colorado Denver's Auraria Library. Her professional interests include user experience, web accessibility, virtual reference, open source web platforms for libraries, and discovery systems. She was named a 2012 Library Journal Mover and Shaker in the area of tech leadership.
Rebecca K. Miller is the College Librarian for Science, Life Sciences, and Engineering at Virginia Tech, and holds an MLS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Previously, she served as the Digital Technologies Librarian at Louisiana State University and has published several articles on the topic of technology and instruction. Currently, she serves on the editorial boards of three journals and holds leadership positions in both national and state level professional organizations.
